Peacock and SnakeThe Sorcery of Wealth

Love it or hate it, money is a necessity in our modern life and we are constantly reminded of it each and every day. In this lecture we will explore money, it’s essence, procurement and manipulation within Western esoterism and sorcery. We will look at how magicians sought wealth with examples from 16th century grimoires and how to utilize both ancient and modern techniques to stalk the money spirit. With a breakdown though the 7 classical planets and their relationship to the money spirit we will touch upon both psychological and spirit magic and how we can open ourselves up to receive and ultimately live with more abundance. Students and practitioners will gain insights into themselves and the ways in which they can utilize sorcerous methodologies to engage with money.

Getting to the Root of Rootwork

With new schools, workers and shops focusing on Rootwork springing up each and every day Rootwork, otherwise known as Hoodoo, is certainly the “trad de jour”. But the core of Rootwork lies in its very name, which is the “root” of the plant. In this lecture, we will focus on the core aspects of Hoodoo and why it is such an effective form of magic. We will also take an in-depth look into the magical anatomy of plants and why exactly the root of the plant is so coveted in and linked to Hoodoo. A foundational lecture, “Getting to the Root” will help any student or practitioner of Hoodoo to form a deeper understanding and relationship with the herbs and roots of this uniquely African American folk magic tradition.

Maya Grey has been involved in various esoteric and magical traditions for over 20 years. She is an initiate of the Anderson Feri tradition of witchcraft as well as a Rootworker. From 2008 – 2015 she owned and operated Ancient Road, a working botanica focused on Hoodoo and Sorcery. Considered an ally and asset of the African American community in Albuquerque, NM, she worked with many families specifically focusing on court cases. During Ancient Road’s height, it shipped products worldwide and counted community leaders, celebrities and politicians as its clients. Currently Maya is focused on her esoteric art, private clients and family. Sometimes she reads tarot.
